The Galaxy A51

Awesome Is For Everyone

And with the phone mid-range market more crowded than ever, I thought it is timely to review a smartphone that is selling in huge numbers across the world, the Samsung Galaxy A51. With a restrained yet nice design, Samsung's A51 features quad rear cameras, an AMOLED screen with a middle mounted punch-hole selfie cam, as well as a glass like plastic rear.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has been on the market in UK since February and the device went on sale in the United States Of America in April and also is priced at the £329 price point.

Performance And Speed

The AMOLED display is great as you expect from this company}, the colours appear very bright and vibrant and phone's viewing angles are actually superb. With very little to complain about other than the device is a little dull (but it is very readable) even when in direct sunlight and circumstances are not good for viewing, even with the contrast fully up.
Here is where roadtesting flagship smartphones such as the Oppo Find X2 Pro 2020 as well as the OnePlus 8 is a hindrance in getting some balanced perspective of what a mid-range phone such as this midrange beast.
The Exynos chipset is not about to compete with Snapdragon's 865 chipset in any way, and going away from flagship chipset to the latter processor becomes a sobering experience then you eventually understand that the A51 is a middle of the range unit and allowances should be given.
You cannot help but notice that, this handset can be laggy and slow sometimes and we were asking ourselves if it had recognised the touch when attempting to start an app or make use of the unit.
This is really a level of lag we haven’t seen for many time, even with cheaper phones like Honor's 10 Lite that can be purchased for only £140.
And as for the device's in-display fingerprint scanner, suffice to say that Samsung should have rather put it in the rear because I got a success roughly 50% when attempting to unlock the handset before ending up entering the pin code.

The Galaxy A51 Styling

Owing to the galssticky back, navigate to this website the Galaxy A51 doesn't feel or look like it's a mid-range handset, the plastic construction feels more forgiving when it's in the hand in that there are no sharp edges like you sometimes get on smartphones that are built with back panels built from toughened glass.
The subtle design element on the rear panel is nice and this gives a touch of class to the device. We have seen that the branding on enbtry level handsets has been just a bit overdone, the Samsung logo is discretely located.
You will see a front camera setup that, is becomes even noteworthy due to what appears to be a metal circle around it that attracts your attention.
Serious audio fans will rejoice in the fact that there is an audio jack located on the device's lower edge, with a Type C port as well as a speaker.
At the top of the handset there's a single microphone while the right-hand edge has the power switch as well as a loudness adjuster and the SIM tray place on the other side.
It is a tidy yet, classy device that will slip nicely into a normal jeans pocket easily.

A51's Battery Life

If you think about a normal day's worth of work, the A51 will get through the workload and have 10% extra in the tank at the day's end, but we noted a few times where the handset recharging was required at the afternoon following heavier usage.
The 15W charging lets it to get totally recharged in about two hour period, and a fast charger taking it to a third, which is passable though hardly newsworthy with the price.
